A Life Formatted for God

As a tech in The Salvation Army, it is best practice to use a disk drive or an external drive that has been formatted. By having the drive formatted, it will reduce the risk of infected files or corruption on the drive. Any time you work with something that is used and has current applications or software, it is best to format first. This will reduce any incompatibilities or current applications and software that are not needed. The assurance of having a formatted drive rules out and eliminates the possibilities of failure.

The Bible (God's Word) speaks concerning how difficult it would be to put something new into or onto something that has been used. In Matthew 9:17, it reads: "Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved."

I like what the last phrase of v17 says: "both are preserved." God's assignment is to assure both are preserved – HIS word and His people. That's why the scripture points out the story of Nicodemus in John 3:3. In reply, Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth no one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again (formatted)."

The Lord Jesus wants to format you that you can receive the Word of what the Father has spoken, concerning Jesus and your relationship with HIM. It's hard to rewrite over an application or program. The possibilities of failure are imminent! The Lord Jesus wants to give you a fresh start and a new beginning with him.

Let's not operate any longer on Windows 98 or XP. There is a new operating system that has worked out all the glitches (sin) and the blue screen (death). Jesus repaired both, and to receive his operating system (Holy Spirit), we must be formatted. It's amazing that the root word of format is form, and God the Father can do just that! Will you open your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ, repent (turn away) from your sins, invite HIM into your heart, and let the formatting begin? God Bless you!

Spirit Search Engine

It seems technology is breaking boundaries on the way we study, interact and research. I would like to point out one of the fascinating boundaries that was broken in the way we search and look for information.

Technology has placed information before us at the click of a button. We have catapulted from libraries to search engines. The purpose of the search engine is to give you the ability to pull information based upon what you are requesting. It helps cut the time of going to the library and reading multiple books to find the information you require. It helps to narrow down the many choices that are available to the specific choice that is needed. It helps to bypass the opinions of others and get you the answers you are looking for.

I am reminded of a Scripture in 1 Corinthians 2:10 - The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

God has given those who chose and will choose to follow the Lord Jesus Christ their personal search engine, which is the Holy Spirit. God has given us the equipment to be successful in life, through life, and also to save a life. We can use our search engine (Holy Spirit) for things we need and the things God needs us to do. We can save time, tempers and trails.

If we inquire of God for the answer before we make the decision, we also can be saved from situations, 
circumstances and conditions. The Scripture also tells us in James 1:5 - If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given him.

Did you hear what God just said? In our asking, He will auto correct anything that may have been done prior to your asking. God says you have not because you ask not. God desires that love relationship with His creation, and He will not allow anything to get in between. I know I am talking with someone who needs direction, answers and solutions.

Have you visited God's Facebook? In it and on it, we find the pathway to salvation through Jesus Christ. This Facebook page has 66 letters about ordinary people who did extraordinary things. And what you and I can have in common with these men and women is the Holy Spirit. Let's begin to use our search engine, so we can confidently know we received the answer we need.

Making the Connection

In my line of work in the IT field, I am always trying to make the connection. When working with others concerning their computer issues, my mind is on what caused the problem. The issue is only a result of what the actual problem is, whether your e-mail isn't working, you can't connect to the internet, the phone is not working, or you can't find the power button on your computer (just kidding on the last one!). There is always a reason why something isn't working or responding the way it was dynamically built.

We were dynamically built according to Psalm 139:14 which says we were fearfully and wonderfully made with a connection to God, but because of the fall of man in Genesis 3, we became disconnected from God through sin (disobedience).

At times, a computer is not going to perform to its potential if it's not making the connection with other internal hardware and software components. If one component fails, it affects the whole computer. Then, the computer has to be analyzed to determine what caused it not to print, open up a Word Document, and in some cases, not turn on.

I believe, just like computers, people will not work properly if we do not make the connection. Our peace should not be predicated by what is going right in our life but by our connection to the One who gave us life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). Our joy should not be determined by things that happen to us but by our relationship to the One who has written our name in the Lamb's Book of Life (Luke 10:20). Our love should not be measured by mere words but connected to the Word that was made flesh (John 15:13).

The only way that a computer can work properly and perform at its best is to make sure that the hardware is compatible with the software, or else you can expect disappointing results. We as people must also make the connection in order to function properly the way we were designed. I believe until we make the connection with Jesus, we also should expect disappointing results.

Are you tired of being disappointed, hurt, disconnected, abandoned, alone, malfunctioned, or just powered off? I have a connection solution just for YOU! Just repeat these wonderful words: "Father, I know you love me and sent Jesus to forgive me of my sin and to take my place in the judgment of sin.  I want to invite Jesus into my heart. I want to make that connection with Jesus. I want to make that connection to God’s plan for my life, and I want to make that connection with heaven. Thank you, Jesus for making my connection!"
